Fishing at Koege Aa

Originally I thought my weekend should be used writing about salmon fishing at Lagan in Sweden, but the spring weather called for fishing. Living in the middle of Copenhagen the short trip possibilities are few, but I have for a while wanted to try out Køge Å (30 min from Copenhagen with train). Searching the web for rules and price on fishing Køge Å made we want to go even more. Look at this nice video made about se sea trout spawning at Køge Å.
So what are the rules? Well actually its free (you only need the national license) to fish from the harbor and up through the city (see map). If you want to go further, you need a membership of Køge sportsfiskerforening.
So Sunday I went to Køge thinking a 4-5 kg sea trout was the only possible outcome… and at 07:00 there wasn’t many people at Køge Å. To give you an impression on what kind of a stretch it is – look at the Picture below. I meet another man fishing (roach) but as already mentioned I came for trout.

Spoiler: I did not catch a 4-5 kg sea trout…
But I got a 12 – 15 cm trout on a spinner half its size – savage beasts ;-)
Now I love the streams when they cut through the landscape especially forest or meadows, so I went for a walk looking at Køge Å further up stream – and it looks nice. Who wouldn’t want to lure a brown trout here. I must connect to the Køge sportsfiskerforening to learn more about this Water.
Until then
