Troutfishing at Fruens Boege

This is a stretch of Odense Aa that holds a lot of brown trouts and depending on the season also sea trouts. It is quite a different place though, as it is located in the city park “Fruens Bøge” the “Central park” of Odense. Therefore you will be sharing the place with people walkin, talking, biking, running and other recreational activities. It is a very beautiful place though and if you go to the railway bridge (as shown in the video above), it is normally pretty quiet.

I have already mentioned the trouts, but this is also a good stretch for pikes and perch – but most often it is the brown trout at the other end of the line.

This is also a stretch with good flyfishing opportunities and some places you can actually see the trouts circling the egde of the deep water. I tried to lure one in the video below, but this fish was very snobbish and I could not find the fly of its liking…

Class 4 spinner depending on the amount of Water of course - you need to get down 1 - 1,5 meter

Mörasilda or its like 10-20 g

Floating Rapala woblers

Fly:

Sinking flys with some color (not salmon flys, they still need to imitate food)

Floating flys that imitates what is around you on the day of fishing
